When Billy was a small boy he began showing interest in the Drums in the Kitchen of his parents home where he made his own drums set out of his mother kitchen pots and utensils. Billy’s Love and passion of the drums eventually took him to Berkley College of Music where he graduated from their music program. Returning back home to Detroit to be near his family, Billy began working with the great Johnny Trudell Orchestra and booking many jobs in the Detroit with the some of the greatest national and international performers of all time, such as Wayne Newton, Perry Como, Bobby Vinton, Tony Orlando, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Dinah Shore, Debbi Boone, Martha Reeves, Jerry Lewis, Jay Leno, Red Skelton, Billy Crystal, George Burns, Danny Thomas, The Gaylords, Marvin Hamlish, Toots Toolman, Joe Pass, Dizzy Galespie the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and many many more music legends. He has performed on countless movies and sound tracks as well as 100’s of Automotive Commercials. Billy’s main love has been with the Accordion; Billy has worked with many great Accordionists during his illustrious career such as Art Van Damme, Frank Morrocco, Tony Dannon, Peter Soave, Dick Contino, John Schollak and many other greats! It is for this reason why the Michigan Accordion Society has recognized Billy Cario’s support for the accordion along with his Musical achievements as an Honorary Member, he has supported Michigan Accordion Players and the Michigan Accordion Society for well over 20 years!
